An Advantages being a Siebel TA
It’s been a long while that I have been assigned a Siebel TA role. Since then, I have learned really a lot of things thank to the previous TA (Eileen Xie, a cool, knowledgeable Siebel TA, Vivian and Nicholas). Let me just summary on things I have learned thus far as below.
1- Windows 2000 Administrator Tools
+ Event viewer
+ Services.msc
+ DCom
+ Users and Group Administration
+ Window IIS
+ Window Cluster Admin
+ Window Load Balancing System
+ ODBC admin Tool
2- DB tool
+ DB2 Command Line Center
+ DB2 Performance Expert
3- Siebel Severs
+ DDL Sync
+ Siebel Enterprise Server
+ Siebel thick client
+ Siebel Deployment
4- Script
+ Batch Files (.bat)
+ Visual Basic Script (.vbs)
5- Application Software
+ Actuate Report (to work with Siebel Application)
+ Resonate Dispatch Manager
Besides the above knowledge, having worked in IRAS, I have come across many tools which include:
1- Database Tool
+ Quest Central
+ Advance Query Tool (AQT)
2- Day to Day operation
+ Netwriter (LAN messenger)
+ SnagIt (Printscreen tool, mostly used by tax officers)
+ Siebel Tool 7.5.3.11
+ Siebel software 7.5.3.11
+ Visual Source Save (VSS)
+ CompareIt (Tool to compare two source codes)
+ Remedy system (To keep track on the problem raised by users)
+ TrackRecord (Similar to Remedy System)
+ SAP system (Just used it, I do not know how to develop with it)
+ Post It Note
*Hope I can list out as much as I could so it will be an evidence after many years down the road when I read back this old post*
